This site is right in the heart of the West End. Located unpromisingly right next to a betting shop, it’s the standard tedious membership process, before a walk up the stairs gets you onto the main gaming floor. From here it’s a long thin type of a place, with the slots on your left once you get to the top of the stairs, and the gaming tables right in front of you and further back, behind the cunningly hidden cash desk.
The interior of the St Giles Casino has changed drastically from it’s old identity as the Gala Tottenham Curt Road – they’ve really done a bang-up job of turning it from the previous incarnation – a bit of a toilet if we’re honest – into a place you’d be delighted to take the other half along to. The bar used to be right in front as you came to the top of the stairs, but now is tucked away to the right, so you come out right into some gaming tables.
The slot offer has also been dramatically updated, and one of the charms of the place is that you can play the slots and gaze out of the window to the delights of a busy Tottenham Court Road. It’s quite a bit more mesmerising than you might think – all of human life is out there – and a pretty pleasant way to while away an hour or two. The slots themselves are of course bang up to date, with plenty of Electronic Roulette on tap too, including unusually some single terminals for the antisocial among you (ok, among us).
The difference in the place from the previous branding is very clear, and now it’s really a cool place to head for if you want a gamble, a loafing session or a beverage. Even the waitress service is rocket-quick.

The Grosvenor St. Giles Casino was formerly the Gala Casino Tottenham Court Road until it was taken over by the Rank Grosvenor group in 2013.The newly refurbished casino is modern and stylish and is located in central London.
The two closest airports are London City Airport which is nine miles from the casino and London Heathrow which is 18 miles away. Parking is free on the street outside the casino after 6.30pm on a single yellow line and there is also the nearby Bloomsbury Car Park which is available at a discount to casino guests. However, taking into account a £10 daily London Congestion Charge as well as the difficulties of parking in central London, it is probably better to travel by taxi or tube. Tottenham Court Road station is less than a minute’s walk from the casino whilst the mainline stations of Euston and Kings Cross are about a mile away. The casino is next door to the St. Giles Hotel and other nearby hotels include The Bloomsbury Hotel, Cheshire Hotel and the Radisson Blu Edwardian Kenilworth Hotel.
The Grosvenor St. Giles Casino features ten gaming tables, a plush new casino gaming floor offering American roulette and card tables with blackjack, three card poker, Punto Banco, and shoot dice (craps). There are also 39 'Sabre' electronic gaming terminals linked to two live roulette games and two automated wheels. They have increased their jackpots to £10,000 on a selection of slot games. There isn’t any tournament poker played here. The Grosvenor Players Reward scheme means that every time you play, eat or drink at the casino, you earn points.
The cocktail and champagne bar is open until 6.00am and their bistro dining offers options of platters of eastern and western cuisine.

This is one of the new breed of casinos that have completely done away with the old-fashioned stuffy image of men in suits, ladies in evening dresses and licensed-to-kill spies playing baccarat.
This is a casino for the rest of us, and I love it.
Slap bang in the centre of London it attracts a diverse crowd from the ubiquitous granny on the slots to businessmen staying at the hotel (which is attached). You can enter the casino from the hotel or from the ground floor street entrance.
Tip for you, if you enter from the street you'll usually get a free bet offer - from the hotel you won't.
The layout is functional, couple of roulette and blackjack tables at the rear, some electronic roulette and lots of slots.
one of the best ways to spend your time here is on the communal slots, entry to freespins rounds and bonus games are linked so if the fella next to you (or on the row of 5 or 6 slots) gets a bonus round you all do.
This really helps create an atmosphere and i've never known so much banter and laughing in a casino slot room in my life. Every time I've visited it's been the same.
For those of us who like a drink and a smoke there's a big bar (very cheap by London standards) and a really nice smoking balcony with a great view over the West End.
No dress code, no pretensions, just lots of fun.
